This item is deceptive by the advertising. I spent hours filing and finally grinding. They state you may have to file the tabs, but that is not the main problem. The block on the back where the keeper pin goes through had to be filed down about 3/16 of an inch and then redrilled. The problem as I have read here is not necessarily the front tabs. The reason the bolt won't close is because the unit has to set level on the receiver, if not the bolt binds. I finally figured it out by comparing the original cover's basic design with that of this replacement. The mounting block where the pin goes is way to long / deep. If you can see any light coming through the side (or gap) cover where it joins the receiver then it is going to bind. Be sure to remove the bolt and spring as you will be testing the action many times. Given plenty, about four hours of re-engineering it can be made to fit. A rotary tool is a must or a good grinder. After the back is finally level you may find that the keeper / lock pin hole is now too low. Back fill this with mighty putty and let it sit for a day. Then line it up with the receiver and mark the center holes. redrill carefully as it needs to be exact. Then I used a 6mm allen head bolt and lock nut in place of the pin.Be sure to use a high grade bolt if you opt to do this. If I had it to do over, I might try from a different manufacturer and then take it to a gunsmith and have him revamp it!. Once you do finally get it right it is fine, getting there is truly a battle.
